As much as I hate that my plane is delayed two hours, and that I had to take four hours driving on a stand still highway to get here, and I’m gonna get back to Denver so late that I’m going to be almost useless at work tomorrow - I still love the airport. Even Midway. People going and leaving, on a new adventure or starting a new chapter in their lives. Saying goodbye to people they love or hello to people they haven’t seen in months. It’s like a little city running night and day. I just love plane travel.
"The cold never bothered me anyway."
While it felt a lot like a stage show to me, I did definitely enjoy Frozen, and Elsa’s song was super catchy.
I’m so happy about all the celebrating that I see all over the world right now - finally something on the news that I care about.
This is what happens when you get complex historical events out of a wiki answers article. I realize there is an intense need to be critical and salacious against the dead— particularly world leaders. It feels good to “know more” about something even if it is poorly informed and half digested. Necklacing is a tragic and horrific method of lynching that became popular during Mandela’s imprisonment and was endorsed by the ANC and Winnie Mandela.
I cannot and will not write on why it is wrong to read history and it’s characters like you would a Harry Potter novel or see good and evil as polarizing and distinct forces. I just feel so sick on an intellectual that someone would say “thanks for googling this for me.” Like you don’t do your own research? This is how people are duped into aiding and betting genocides and other socio-political plagues because they refuse to learn about something and preferred to be told. Being educated doesn’t mean you have a degree but that you pursue your intellectual advancement and autonomy.
What a sad and tragic thing to be a person who won’t even read on their own and who feels scandalized over the comparison of a movie star and a politician.
My head hurts.
